Human Rights, responsibilities and your first interview and CV

11/24/2014

This week we cover my Youth Action training camp and the Human Rights Commission Consultation and introduce a dynamo guest - Shani who is a month old graduate from HSC and shares with us what life was like at school, after school and all the extra curricular activities that she undertook.

Shani tells us about debating and the intricacies of all the politics in debating – a very good realistic interview for those who are interested in entering that field.

Shani was a perfect guest to discuss rights and responsibilities with her interest is law and international studies. She brought very astute insight to the conversation and to the interview with Tim Wilson.

The standard you walk by
is the standard you accept
I have been sick this week so I was very impressed that I even made it to do the show and you may notice I am not my usual sparky self - a little slow off the mark at times!

And what a week it was –

Yes, you heard right – our interview this week was Tim Wilson the Human Rights Commissioner. He answered the questions you had sent me to ask – it is a more political interview that I think you were looking for from the questions I got sent in but it has been a great learning process for me seeing just how caught you can get by the right words as Shani pointed out.

We ended the show with some discussion about applying for your first job, interview and CV skills.

Be yourself and remember you are interviewing them as much as
they are interviewing you.

Next week we will have a focus on self esteem and an interview with the Butterfly Foundation.

You have to be
engaged in life
to make a

difference in life.
