Human Trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world
When you consider that quote you have to ask yourself where is the demand that is being fed by such a supply? How can we choose not to pay attention when it is possible that by turning a blind eye we are not being discerning about what services we are using, what we are buying and what may well be going on in our own backyard that is feeding the industry. Ashleigh Clarke and Paige Edwards from A21 join me to talk about their dedication to eradicating the industry.
There are resources that illustrate the work that is being done in the eradication of human trafficking and I have listed as many as I can here:
A21 - the organisation that Paige and Ashleigh volunteer for
Walk for Freedom - Abolishing slavery one step at a time
Anti-Slavery Australia an initiative from UTS
Turning a blind eye: 21st Century slavery served for dinner - GREAT blog
Where the world's 30 million slaves live - The Washington Post
Slaving Away - 4 Corners
