Interns Australia is a support and advocacy body for interns and students undergoing work placement in Australia.
Colleen Chen is one of the founders and gave us an interview on what support Interns Australia can offer. Firstly what are internships - a vocational placement as part of an accredited course and must be a compulsory part of a course. That is the only exception that allows for an unpaid internship. Most people who do internships do it outside those vocational courses hence Colleen's work. Colleen is mid way through a law degree.

Link here IntersAustralia.org Working on an accreditation scheme that will highlight internships of good standards just like a Fair Trade logo. That should provide some standards that relate to a good internship. They will also be able to understand the gap between the school to work transition. Procrastination is usually a symptom of a coversation your body is trying to have with you that you are not listening to. Rather than ignore it take time to listen and work out why you don't want to do what needs to be done.
