Chatswood Sleeps Rough

8/27/2016

This event was run by Chatwood Chamber of Commerce in order to give a taste of what sleeping rough is like.  Stig Falster and Julie Burgess work extremely hard to make it happen and this year got support from Willoughby Council, Storage King Chatswood (who supplied the very valuable venue!) and Orora Fibre Packaging (who supplied the very valuable cardboard which were our home and bed for the night). For next year they are looking for some sponsorship to do some banners...contact Chatswood Chamber of Commerce if you can help out.

The money raised went to the Salvation Army in Chatswood to help them deliver services for women experiencing domestic violence and StreetWork who run mentoring, skills and outreach services for at risk and vulnerable youth. Both services are working locally and so the money raised is spent locally.

The show is a collection of interviews giving different aspects of the night, why people do it, how it felt and what they learnt post event.

Enjoy!
